Record a transfer

Move money between two of your accounts with linked transactions on both sides.

Prerequisites​

Steps​

  1. In the left navigation, click Transactions.
  2. Click Record transfer.
  3. Select From account (for example, Main Checking).
  4. Select To account (for example, Savings).
  5. Enter Amount as a positive number (for example, 100.00).
  6. Enter Date.
  7. Click Save.

Expected result​

  • Two linked rows appear in the register: a withdrawal on Main Checking and a deposit on Savings
  • Each row shows a transfer indicator
  • Main Checking balance decreases by the transfer amount
  • Savings balance increases by the transfer amount
  • Net worth is unchanged (money moved between accounts, not in or out)

Imported transfers​

If both sides of a transfer were imported separately (for example, a credit card payment on checking and the matching deposit on the card), use Review transfer suggestions or Link a transfer instead of entering the transfer again.
